Penny Deavin

Non-Executive Director

Penny Deavin is the CEO of Muscular Dystrophy Queensland, appointed in 2023 after working with the organisation since 2005. Over her time with MDQ, and in her career prior, Penny has built broad experience in the non-profit sector across finance, operations, fundraising and communications. She holds a Graduate Certificate in Business from Griffith University and was awarded the Griffith Award for Academic Excellence.

Penny is committed to improving outcomes for people living with muscular dystrophy and related conditions. Through her role with MDF, she is focused on strengthening equitable access to services, support and connection that extend beyond the individual to wrap around the whole family, regardless of location.
